I love a good burger, and over the course of the trip, we've had quite a few. Here's a quick rundown of some of the best burgers we've had this summer:
The final burger we had as a part of the trip was at In-N-Out. I think for a lot of people on the team, this was the first time they'd ever been, so I tried to get a nice photo of everyone eating! I think the consensus was that it was a good burger. I personally definitely like In-N-Out burgers because they have such a good ratio of bread to meat to everything else (though I know people do complain sometimes that the onion is too much).
Right after we got out of Yosemite, we stopped at the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland. The burgers were pretty standard, but they had really good sweet potato fries!
On our rest day in Yosemite Valley, Edgardo and I stopped at the grill in the valley and got some burgers. Since we'd been camping for such a long time, it was great to have a hot greasy meal. The burger was solid, though definitely not worth the price (and the fries were definitely not worth $3).
Jumping a little farther back, we made our own burgers when stopping at the KOA in Limon, CO. Though we didn't have spatulas or tongs, we were still somehow able to flip them until they were nice and juicy. Honestly I think these were some of my favorite patties of the trip.
Back in Henderson, KY, our host Brad took us to his favorite place in Indiana: Zesto's. We mostly got ice cream / shakes, but Brad said this was the best simple cheeseburger around so I had to try it. Though it was a bit thin in all departments, it was still a great snack to go with a good shake.
Unfortunately, these are all the burgers I can find pictures of, but we had plenty more burgers on the trip. Shoutout to The International Cafe & Bar in Austin, NV! That patty was also probably one of the best on the trip. In Pleasant Grove, UT, Joe made us some pretty great burgers -- I had 3 (or 4?). Another great burger on the trip was in Cecilia, KY with Keith and Megan. That might've been the best all around homemade burgers of the trip!
