Today we had our second Learning Festival of the trip. We were at Lab: Revolution in Farmington MO, and it was an amazing experience!
We started off the day moving over into Al’s Bike Hostel near the lab. We then headed over to the lab around 10:30 to set up.
We split the kids into three groups based roughly on age and then we sent them to their workshops. Caralyn and I had the first slot off, so she took a quick nap while we waited.
The workshops were a lot of fun!
After the workshops concluded, we had a dinner and social time with the students and parents where we answered questions and talked about our experiences at MIT and in science.
We also saw all the signatures on the wall of the lab from all the past Spokes teams.
Afterwards, a couple of us went to a bookshop in the same building. We each got a book (or maybe two) and hoped that they would all fit into the book box. Bill also got an awesome game called Superfight which we played that evening. It was a super fun game and we stayed up way too late playing it.
Today was an awesome learning festival and everyone we worked with was so wonderful and helpful. I can’t wait to see what these students will do in the future.
