Today was our shortest day of the summer: only 19.2 miles! It was also super hilly, but we reached our final destination (Wise, VA) well before noon.
The Warmshowers host we had initially reached out to wasn’t available, but they reached out to their friend who was able to provide us an entire cabin at Camp Bethel!
We spent most of our day at a coffee shop in town. I made some progress on my book, while the others read, caught up on emails, and enjoyed some coffee and snacks. There was heavy rain for much of the day, so we were pretty lucky to have finished so early.
Since we had a whole kitchen to ourselves in the cabin, we decided to have a nice dinner to finish up the day. Bethany, Annie, and Kate made some amazing stir-fry, ending the day on a high note.
